Each with pine-cone finial. Above a twin-handled ovoid body applied with scrolling foliage, on a waisted socle and stepped square plinth, the underside stamped MAISON MARNYHAC I RUE DE LA PAIX PARIS

The large size vases are elegantly adorned with gold-gilt grapevine designs topped with a gold pine cone. The egg shaped white marble is uplifted with the slender scole despite its actual volume of white marble.

Maison Marnyhac is a French foundry. They are known to have worked for the celebrated artists Jean-Baptiste Clésinger and Frédéric-Eugène Piat with two addresses in Paris, 1, Rue de la Paix and 26, Avenue de l’Opéra. They were awarded the Gold Medal at the Paris Great Exhibition of 1878.
